Congratulations to the 6th class pupils who received the sacrament of confirmation today.

Active Week begins next Monday the 3rd of April and it is set to be one of the busiest weeks of the year. We have a huge range of activities taking place including mystery guests, the return of Carla Rowe from Sky Sports, nature walks, tournaments and an Easter egg hunt. For the full line up take a look at the Active Schools Week section under achievements.     To help launch our week we will be selling tickets to win this fabulous hamper! All money raised will go towards our Active Schools Fund. Tickets are €2 each or 3 for €5.

Best of luck to Callum O Brien and Emma Mulvaney who will represent the school in next weeks Cumann na mBunscol Skills Tests in Breffni Park.

Our green schools committee had a very in depth meeting with Conor Craven during the week. Conor shared his vast experience of green schools and the importance of looking after the environment. The committee are busy preparing to apply for our second green flag which is based on 'Energy'.

The members of the media club have been learning about road safety over the past few weeks. They are now planning an exciting project. Keep an eye out for the finished product.

The boys from 4th, 5th and 6th class attended a soccer blitz in Cootehill on Wednesday. There was a very high standard of football on show and the boys more than held their own. Well done boys!

As part of our journey to achieve an Active Flag for the school every class is participating in a running initiative. Together we are running the combined distance from Malin Head to Mizen Head. To do this every class runs a set distance every week. These distances are combined and tracked on our Active School Noticeboard. The initiative is heading into its third week now and everyone is really enjoying it. We hope to reach our goal of running 664km during Active Week which will coincide with the Easter Holidays.
