Congratulations to our 6th class pupils, Noah Murphy, Mark Smith, Nicole Fay, Thomas Reilly, Thomas Mooney, Ailish Mc Laughlin and Josh Reilly on finishing primary school. Everyone in St. Brigid's NS would like to wish each one of you the very best of luck next and in the future. We are very proud of all your achievements in primary school and have no doubt that there are many more to come. A special word of thanks to Sr. Rita for leading our graduation ceremony and best wishes on your retirement.

Active Week

Last week we held 'Active Week' in our school. The children were busy each day with different activities both in school and at home. It was an action-packed week and enjoyed by everyone!

Open Night

We held an Open Night last Wednesday in our school. It was an opportunity for our students to showcase all of the work they are doing in school, as well as giving parents and local community members a chance to see our newly renovated school. Some of the activities that the children were doing on the night include green-screen filming, problem-solving through the use of IZAK9 cubes, bee-bots and Minecraft, and Aistear in the infant class. Many thanks to everyone who attended the event!

Best Wishes

Best of luck to our 1st and 2nd class teacher, Padraig Faulkner, and the rest of the Cavan team tomorrow in the Ulster Final. Also, a special thanks to the Reilly family for making the lovely banners for the front of our school.

Write a Book Competition 2019

Congratulations to 3rd and 4th class who were awarded certificates for their participation in the Monaghan Education Centre "Write a Book Competition 2019". Each student in the class worked hard for a number of weeks to write, design and illustrate their very own book.  Congratulations to Ryan O'Grady, Eoin Burns and Mathew Mc Cann who received highly commended awards for their books: "The thing that can make you live forever", "The Adventures of Jimmy O'Brien" and "The fire breathing dragon". And a special congratulations to Joshua Dunne who was invited to the "Write A Book Competition"...

Pyjama Day

Two of our pupils, Nicole and James Fay, are running in a 5K Colour Dash in aid of Cancer Research on June 23rd in the Phoenix Park. On Friday, we held a pyjama day as part of their fundraising. A total of €635 was raised on the day. Many thanks to everyone who donated to this very worth cause. Best of luck to Nicole and James next weekend on their run. Here are some pictures from the day!
