The boys and girls in 5th and 6th class have been working very hard on science projects over the past few weeks. On Wednesday we were visited by Mark to judge our projects. Each group came up with their own unique idea and formed their own experiments to go along with their project. Congratulations to Dylan, Donnchadh, Tristan and Tomás who will now represent our school in the regional final.
The Shining stars have been learning all about birds over the past 2 weeks. We enjoyed lots of bird themed activities such as: building Lego birds, making nests in fabric and fibre, making bird feeders for our sensory garden, making chocolate bird nests and cooking tasty scrambled eggs and toast!
The shooting stars have been exceptionally busy in the last few weeks celebrating birthdays, trips to the park, taking part in music therapy along with their jam packed schedule.
5th and 6th were making use of our active walkway in the school this week for PE. The children were using the various stopping points along the walkway to complete some orienteering activities.
Today, the children in the school competed in the Cross-Country running competition. We are so proud of how each child ran, and they can all be so proud of themselves. As you can see they were quite excited with their treats after arriving back at the school
The boys and girls in 1st and 2nd class have been very active since their return to school. They have been developing their fundamental movement skills playing lots of new games and have also been developing their kicking, throwing and catching skills.
5th and 6th have recently started coming up with their projects for the Intel Mini-Scientist competition. Each group has become very creative and very much so look forward to presenting these projects to the judges in October
We've been learning about our community in SESE this week. We had a look at the shops and amenities in Redhills and Cavan that we visit all the time. We then drew our own maps of the village of Redhills.
