As part of Maths Week 2016 we will be enjoying themed days at school this week. There are lots of problems, activities and games taking place in each of our classrooms every day. We took part in a blitz in Drung on Thursday the 13th of October. The boys showed great skill and were commended for their behaviour on the pitch. Well done to all involved.

3rd and 4th class were busy making owls from old fabric. Don't they look fantastic.

Junior and Senior Infants have been covering the theme of Autumn through the methodology of play, as set out in the Aistear Framework. Below are photographs of the children working at the various learning stations. There is also a short video of Cillian, Jamie, Jack, Aoibha, Anna & Keeva making pumpkins, conkers, hedgehogs, etc... at the Malleable Play Station. IMG_0064    

Redhills Juvenile Football Club ran two tournaments in glorious sunshine on Saturday morning in Max Mc Grath Park. The U-10 Francie Dolan Tournament was won by Drung after a gallant effort by Redhills. The inaugural Paddy Minagh Memorial Cup was won by Redhills who defeated Paddys home town of Killeshandra in a fantastic game of football. Well done to the organising committee and to all involved on the day. Paddys nephew Niall Donlon was presented with the cup by his daughter Eadaoin.

Well done to Darragh and Glen who represented the school at the Cumann na mBunscol mini games at half time in the Cavan Intermediate final in Breffni Park.
