Today was a joyous occasion for St. Brigid's N.S. This morning John from the Active School Flag Assessment team came to visit and assess our school to see what we have been up to this year as part of the ASF process. Each class and the Active School committee informed John of all the exciting activities that have been taking place over the past year. John was extremely impressed, in particular with how active the children are both in class and at break times. Organic Trust Ireland
Today Klaus Laitenberger from the Organic Trust visited our school and gave the children a very interesting talk on all things organic. Klaus spoke to the children about growing plants organically and the differences between organic and conventional farming. The Gardening committee and the Green School committee then brought Klaus on a tour of our school where he was shown our poly-tunnel and composting site. The children thoroughly enjoyed Klaus' visit.

Shannon River Adventure Centre
The children from 1st to 6th class had a great day out at the Shannon River Adventure Centre. They enjoyed a range of activities including wall climbing, archery, canoeing, pier jumping, mud sliding and obstacle courses. You can see some of the pictures and videos from a fun-filled day below:
