New Green Flag

After a lot of hard work and dedication from all our pupils, and in particular our Green School's Committee, we achieved our 3rd Green Flag. This Green Flag is based on the theme of water. The water theme looks at developing awareness around water conservation and how to effectively manage this important resource in our schools and at home.

World War Two

5th and 6th class have been learning all about World War Two for the last month. They read the novel, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, and wrote letters in English. They learned about the Holocaust and the lives of people during World War Two in history. They also created some ‘Belfast Blitz’ inspired paintings. Have a look at some of their work!

Athletics

On Wednesday, twenty of our students got the opportunity to compete in an Athletics competition in the Peace Link in Clones. The weather was lovely for the event and everyone had a fantastic time. Well done to everyone to participated.

Silent Yard

As part of our Autism Awareness Day we had a silent yard. During this time, children were encouraged to organise and play games without the use of verbal communication. The aim of this activity was to allow children to experience life as a child without language.

Autism Awareness Day

Today in St. Brigid's National School we celebrated Autism Awareness Day. During the course of the day the children got the opportunity to participate in a number of different activities and games. At the end of the school day, each child let go of a blue balloon to mark the importance of this special day.
