Sensory Set – Now on sale!

5th and 6th class have been working hard on developing their 'Sensory Set' as part of the Junior Entrepreneur Programme. The Sensory Set is made up of a selection of different textures and breathing exercises. The target audience is children with autism, although it can be used by anyone. If you are interested in purchasing one of our sensory sets please email Ms.Fitzpatrick at kw@stbrigidsns.ie.

Tree Mural

The first leaves were placed on our Tree Mural today. 30 more will be added next week. So far we have raised €10,000. Based on the excellent response to this fundraising initiative, we plan to begin construction of the Multi Use Games Area (Astro Pitch & Walkway) on Monday 24th February. It is hoped that it will be complete and operational for all pupils from Monday 20th April 2020. Please continue to share information on this fundraiser with past pupils.

Operation Get To The Capital Of The Nation

Today all the boys and girls in St. Brigid's National School participated in our challenge 'Operation Get To The Capital Of The Nation'. This involved completing a variety of physical activities with the goal of clocking up 120km (the distance from our school to the RTE studios). We were visited by Operation Transformation leader and past pupil Lorraine O'Neill who joined in on the challenge and who also baked some healthy snacks with 5th and 6th class.

JEP – Dragon’s Den Day

Last Wednesday, 5th and 6th class presented their mini business ideas to the Dragon's Den. Our Dragons being Mr.Kerins, Ms.Lynch and Lisa Pepper, owner of Off The Rack, Cootehill. Our Dragons chose the 'Sensory Set' to be the main idea of the class. 5th and 6th class will now work on producing and selling their Sensory Sets, aimed at autistic children with different sensory needs, watch this space!

Christmas Aistear

Over the past few weeks the boys and girls in Junior and Senior infants have been exploring the theme of Christmas in Aistear. They worked as busy elves designing, building and wrapping toys in Santa's Toy Workshop. They made some magic reindeer food, built their own clay snowmen and painted beautiful Christmas stockings.
